As a platoon sergeant in the U.S. Army it was my job to train others to use tools for survival. For me, that job never ended. Now the tools I share  are the tools of communication along with the healing power they can bring. If my voice and my story can help a single person as others voices and stories have helped me, I am committed to sharing them whenever and wherever possible.

Over the past year I have been blessed to share my story and the story of  Black Sunday with millions around the world through the National Geographic Global Miniseries Event The Long Road Home. My experiences on the battlefield have taught me valuable lessons in leadership and my experiences and struggles in readjusting to civilian life continue to teach me lessons in the importance of leaning on the strength of others to build and share your own struggles. My active duty days may be behind me but my mission remains the same: to use my experience to help others help themselves.
